Oriole Coffee Roasters is a boutique coffee roasting service founded in 2008 right on Singapore’s busiest street, Orchard Road. Since then, we’ve won over a cult following of coffee enthusiasts locally and around the world.
We source for interesting and special single estate and single origin coffee beans from various regions, and we like to work with coffee buyers who take pride in purchasing coffee that is produced with the highest attention to cup quality. Social and environmental responsibility is also a trait that we look for when we source our coffee and we believe that we can contribute to improving the lives & welfare of coffee farmers and their children through these efforts.
Once we deliver our roasted coffee to your hands we believe that the journey is only half complete. The other half of the journey involves a comprehensive training program that will instill an understanding of proper coffee brewing techniques to consistently extract the best flavour, aroma, and ultimately value from each cup of coffee that YOUR customers will experience.
Fresh is the Best
Green coffee has the highest potential to deliver its peak flavor and aroma when fresh. At Oriole Coffee Roasters we use only in-season green coffee to deliver the greatest taste and aroma experience served to you.
Best of Season
Different coffees peak, depending on terroir, weather and processing methods, at different times during the harvest seasons. Only by working with reputable suppliers and having rigorous cupping quality control, we are able to select the best sources every season.
Temperature & Humidity
Green coffee is very sensitive to Singapore’s harsh climate. Temperature and humidity can reduce the quality in a very short span of time while roasted coffee oxidizes and stales at an even greater rate. Oriole Coffee Roasters maintains all it’s stock of raw and roasted coffee in a temperature and humidity controlled environment, 24/7.
Toast to Our Roast
We roast our coffee in small batches through ‘Ella’, our very orange Diedrich gas-fired drum roaster. Diedrich roasters are renowned for their ability to precision roast coffee with a high degree of consistency and are a favorite amongst small batch roasters throughout the world. Ella allows us to coax out the best and most diverse flavors and aromas inherent in specialty grade coffee.
Cupping is a systematic and consistent method of quality control for coffee professionals throughout the world. At Oriole Coffee Roasters, we cup every new coffee as well as every batch of coffee roasted to determine its best roast profile and consistency from batch to batch. It also allows us to fine tune our roasting as coffees alter their roast behaviors over time.
We roast weekly and deliver weekly to minimize stale inventory on our side and also at our customers locations. With just-in-time logistics, we are maximizing the shelf-life and quality of the coffee delivered to our clients.
At our coffee lab, research is conducted to establish quality control standards from roasting to establishing new protocols for new coffee brewing equipment. We also conduct our regular cupping sessions here.
